Pustevny is part of a wonderful ridge walk which can be as energetic or relaxed as you like. Our guide is based on walking up the hill and along the ridge but there is also a chair lift and road access if you prefer. Pustevny is home to some early 20th century architecture which is completely unique to this area, blending the local wooden style with Secession designs.
Further along the ridge is a statue dedicated to the pagan god Radegast, who once ruled over these hills and pastures. At the end of the ridge is the wooden church of Saints Cyril and Methodius, who brought Christianity to the Slavonic lands in the 9th Century. There are also restaurants boasting the best of local Wallachian cuisine at very hospitable prices. Come and enjoy a feast for your eyes, your mind and your belly, all in one place!
