Czech wine tasting - a South Moravian wine festival parade with historic costumes.

A South Moravian Wine Festival Parade.

Czech wine tasting is about the people and the way of life which make the wines of the Czech Republic. Deep in the heart of Europe lies one of its greatest cultural treasures – the region of South Moravia. It has been captivating visitors for centuries with excellent food, colourful folklore, distinctive architecture and its people’s natural hospitality.

Modern visitors will still find the old traditions preserved by local people in their unmistakeable historic dress. Every stage of the agricultural year is marked by some kind of festival or party and Czech wine tasting means joining in the fun!

Czech wine tasting – health and history with hospitality.

The wineries we take you to are all family-run and have won international awards for quality. The owners themselves are often the people who guide you through the tasting in their own homes or cellars. The hotels are no less welcoming, offering delicious local food and restaurants with their own cellars and sommeliers. Many of them also offer spa facilities and wellness treatments to make sure you are relaxed enough to get the best out of your visit.

Czech wine tasting - Lednice Chateau and gardens.

Lednice Chateau and gardens.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996.

A central cultural feature of Czech wine tasting in South Moravia is the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape. This unrivalled 18th Century Chateau and its landscaped park are known as ‘the Garden of Europe’. There is another UNESCO Site close by; the Biosphere Reserve of Palava. Here you can find sustainably farmed vineyards and natural steppe ecosystems. These are all accessible via the superbly organised ‘Wine Trails’ cycle network.

The Wine Trails network is made up of hundreds of kilometres of easy to moderate trails. They link the beautiful towns and villages, mostly off of main roads and often completely traffic-free. The beauty of cycling is that every village has many small, private cellars which you can discover all by yourself – your own private Czech wine tasting tour!

All of our packages run from May 1st until September 30th. Packages from October to April by arrangement. Four day packages run from Tuesday until Friday, three day packages from Tuesday until Thursday. Other days can be arranged upon request, subject to availability.
