Czech beer tours have always been popular because of the famous quality of Czech beer. Our Czech beer tours take you away from the big, well-known international brewers and into the heart of the modern Czech beer industry – the microbreweries and small brewpubs.

A small but perfectly formed Czech brewpub.

Historically, Czech beers were always brewed locally to where they were sold. Apart from really big brands like Pilsener Urquell, it was not possible to buy a beer very far from its brewery. Therefore the local conditions, especially the water, gave each beer its own distinctive qualities.

During the 1990s, many local breweries went out of business or were bought by international brewing companies. They began the mass production of beers  under licence in other parts of the country. Many Czechs felt that this led to a lower quality product and the stage was set for the rise of the microbrewery and brewpub which are so popular today.
